Roof screws have been used to install turbines on whirlybirds. Roof screws are thicker than the screws provided which will weaken the lug and could cause dislodgement See manufacturer’s instructions below.
Swarf is present on the back of the roof. It is only located in one spot.
It has been noted that there are some scratches wider than 2mm. They don’t seem too deep and will not be seen from the ground but it would be prudent to monitor for corrosion.
No fasteners in flashing join, noncompliant to SA HB 39 refer 5.8.1.
A gap presents in barge cap termination with fascia. This is because the screw has not been tightened correctly into the fascia. This is at the front entry to house so it would be prudent to remedy this.
Barge capping and apron are still to be installed at the back of the roof.

5.8.1 General

Soldered or silicone-sealed joints are to be flush and lapped 25mm in the direction of the fall, with one row of rivets or other approved type fastenings at spacings not exceeding 40mm. This applies to all joints in flashings, cappings, eaves, gutters, box gutters, soakers, penetrations and all general sheet metal joints in roof plumbing.

Manufacturer’s Instructions

Windmaster, SupaVent and TurboBeam – Position the turbine’s ring so that the arms line up with the notches in the top of the Varipitch. Fasten the turbine by using the 3 screws provided through the pre-punched holes and into the turbine arms.
