  • Minor concerns here as the lap of the sheet that is riveted down may be under pressure and generally the valley is usually turned down into the pan of the sheet undersealed and riveted. Minor potential for ingress through the rivets.
  • Screws missing. Also note minor dent in the ridge capping at the front LHS of the roof.
  • Sheet laps not seated correctly.
  • No under seal provided to the join of the ridge is non-compliant to SA HB 39 refer 5.8.3

Overall the roof is compliant, clean and well presented.

5.8.3 Fastening and sealing with sealants

Joint in aluminium/zinc, aluminium/zinc/magnesium alloy-coated steel, prepainted steel flashings and cappings are to be fastened at intervals not exceeding 40mm and silicone sealed with neutral cure silicone sealants.

Sealants are to be sandwiched between the laps of the joint to provide a positive seal and to protect the silicone sealant from exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
